Now, you can just have your phone, tablet, or PC listen to it.Although they dont make it obvious, voice assistants like Siri, Google Now, and Cortana can all identify songs. This feature is powered by Shazam, although you dont need the separate Shazam app installed to use it.
Arguably part of Google Now, identifying songs is one of the many OK Google voice commands you can use on Android. If not, tap the microphone on the search bar at the top of your home screen and say What is this song. That will immediately open the Shazam app instead of using Googles own song-identification feature. Open Cortana (or say Hey Cortana if youve got that enabled), and then say What is this song Cortana will listen for music using your devices microphone and then identify it for you. If you have Shazam installed, you can jump right to the song in the Shazam app, but you dont need to have the Shazam app to use Siris song identification. This is the closest thing there is a to a web-based version of Shazam. Play the actual song for your computers microphone to hear and it will identify the song.
